A Journey from Passion to Leadership… Engineer Ahlam Hassan… An Arab Imprint in the World of Engineering.

In the heart of the energy and electricity sector, which serves as the driving force of modern development, Engineer Ahlam Hassan stands as a unique model blending deep technical expertise with inspiring leadership thought. Engineer Ahlam has transcended the boundaries of a traditional career path to become an influential voice and a pioneering presence in one of the most sensitive and complex engineering fields.

Engineer Ahlam represents one of the prominent Arab figures who has successfully established an advanced engineering and leadership presence in a sector most critical to the trajectory of future development: the electricity and energy sector. Since her graduation from the Australian University, her journey has not been merely a conventional career path; rather, it has taken an upward trajectory expressing restless passion, relentless ambition, and a clear ability to establish herself as an active voice in the professional community and public sphere.

Engineer Ahlam began building her institutional presence through the Kuwait Society of Engineers, which provided a fertile ground for honing her skills and expanding her professional network. Her joining of the Public Relations Committee and the Exhibitions Committee was not just administrative participation, but a milestone that solidified her communication with professional cadres and paved the way toward larger organizational roles. During this stage, she gained a deep understanding of the importance of "soft management" in the engineering sector and how a balanced professional image can elevate the value of an engineer within society.

Because leadership roles are granted only to those who deserve them, she assumed the position of Vice-Chair of the Exhibitions Committee at the Kuwait Society of Engineers. This position required an organized mind, the ability to manage major technical events, and the skill to handle the complex details accompanying projects of this nature. In this role, she proved capable of crafting innovative work environments, demonstrating that the success of engineering activity depends not only on content but on the practitioner’s ability to transform an idea into an influential event whose impact lasts far beyond the moment.

She then moved to a stage more closely connected to the technical depth of the field through her work as an engineer at the power stations belonging to the Ministry of Electricity, Water, and Renewable Energy. This work requires extreme precision, vast technical knowledge, and the ability to deal with highly sensitive operating systems. This experience provided her with direct contact with the state’s electrical infrastructure and enabled her to undertake major responsibilities regarding grid stability and ensuring operational efficiency within vital facilities. As her expertise expanded, she later assumed the role of Liaison Officer for the Transmission Networks Sector within the Ministry—a position relied upon to link technical and administrative levels, achieving the balance that ensures smooth project progression and the cohesion of teams working under time pressure and operational requirements.

Her excellence was not limited to the executive side; she further strengthened her professional standing by obtaining a certification as an Engineering Arbitrator (Grade B).

In 2025, she reached a new pivotal milestone by assuming the presidency of the Electrical Transformer Oil Testing Team. This role requires an exacting technical background and a deep understanding of oil properties and their role in maintaining the lifespan of transformers and the safety of networks. This assignment came as a direct translation of institutional trust in her ability to lead specialized engineering teams and make decisions that directly reflect on the operational reliability of electrical grids.

Her achievements were not confined to executive work but extended to community service and knowledge organization. She participated in the "Little Engineer" exhibition in 2023, adopting a vision aimed at instilling technical passion in children early on and opening the doors of engineering to young minds capable of leading the future one day. She continued this path by coordinating the "Future Engineer" workshop, confirming that her role does not stop at strengthening the existing sector but extends toward creating a knowledge bridge for future generations. She is also the President and Founder of the "Future Engineers Group." In recognition of her effectiveness and distinction, she assumed the position of Chairperson of the Arab Committee for Public Relations and Exhibitions at the Arab Youth Council for Integrated Development—an Arab-wide appointment reflecting the transition of her influence from the local level to a broader regional level, where she represented young engineering talents within a comprehe

The value of her professional presence is bolstered by her active membership in several prominent professional bodies, including the Kuwait Society of Engineers, the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE), the Arab Authority for Engineering Arbitration at the Federation of Engineers, the "Hafiz" Committee for Conservation under the Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy, and the Arab Youth Council for Integrated Development, alongside membership in the Arab Committee for Engineering Education. This makes her part of a high-impact professional network extending beyond national borders. These positions have granted her an additional capacity to contribute to the development of professional legislation, support Arab cooperation in the fields of development and electricity, and open doors for knowledge exchange among young engineering cadres.

On the level of specialization and scientific interest, Engineer Ahlam is known for her passion for developing engineering skills and the personal attributes of new engineers, in addition to her interest in crafting engineering content and presenting knowledge in a simplified yet professional language. She is a figure with a clear presence in scientific and engineering community participation spaces, championing the idea that the engineer's role cannot remain confined within executive sites but must extend to education and participation in creating public awareness related to innovation and development.

What Engineer Ahlam Hassan has achieved to date is not just a career path, but a new document of proof that Arab women are capable of being leadership partners in advanced technical fields. It proves they are capable of establishing an engineering presence that does not stop at the boundaries of a job but expands to leadership, guidance, influence, and the building of a more mature and enriched professional space. She is a model of a journey that began with a clear scientific step and moved with determination toward a leadership platform carrying an Arab identity and a confident future, confirming that success, when paired with knowledge and passion, becomes a lasting legacy.
