The Leadership Journey of Ihab Kamel: A Story of Vision, Integrity, and Impact..
In a world marked by constant disruption and growing complexity, few leaders manage to transcend expectations and leave a meaningful legacy. Ihab Kamel is one such leader. With over 25 years of global experience across finance, real estate, and hospitality, he has consistently turned each chapter of his career into a platform for growth, transformation, and purpose-driven leadership.
Ihab’s journey began with a sharp instinct for finance, not as a technical function but as a strategic engine for business growth. At Nestlé Egypt, he served as Head of Treasury, where he honed a disciplined approach to financial governance. He later assumed the role of Group Treasury Director at Orascom Development, where he was instrumental in advancing the company’s investment strategies, risk frameworks, and capital planning across diverse markets. These experiences expanded his business acumen and solidified his belief that long-term value creation must be embedded into every layer of an organization’s strategy.
But his career would evolve far beyond financial leadership. Ihab’s transition into executive management came with his appointment as CEO of key Orascom subsidiaries in Morocco and other international markets. In these roles, he led complex real estate and hospitality ventures, balancing operational precision with cultural intelligence and strategic vision. His ability to align global ambition with local nuance became one of his hallmarks.
Throughout his career, Ihab’s leadership philosophy remained grounded in three principles: lead with clarity, empower people, and stay agile. These values shaped both the cultures he built and the results he delivered.
Today, as General Manager of ADD Properties (formerly ALDAU Development), Ihab continues to lead with a people-first mindset. He sees real estate and hospitality not simply as physical assets but as drivers of inclusive community growth and sustainable economic development. Under his leadership, ADD has deepened its presence in the Netherlands, the parent company, Egypt, and the UK, with a strategic focus on high-end hotels, branded residences, and destination experiences that enhance both lifestyle and investment value.
Among his many milestones, one stands out: leading the turnaround of a once-stagnant development into a thriving market-leading destination. What others viewed as a failure, Ihab saw as an opportunity. Through bold vision, collaborative execution, and relentless focus, he and his team transformed not only the asset but the organizational mindset behind it. The outcome was more than financial. It reflected renewed purpose, culture, and belief.
For Ihab, true leadership isn’t about titles. It’s about the impact you leave behind and the people you empower. He champions team development, mental well-being, and psychological safety as essentials of a high-performing culture. Empathy and accountability are the cornerstones of his leadership style, allowing him to build teams that thrive on trust, purpose, and shared success.
His influence extends beyond the companies he leads. Ihab has served on several boards and remains active in international business circles, including the American and German Chambers of Commerce. These platforms have broadened his global perspective and allowed him to connect across geographies and industries.
He is also a firm believer in lifelong learning. His academic and professional development includes:
• Certified Director Program (CDCP)
• Executive Leadership Training by the UNWTO in Tourism
• Corporate Finance Program at London Business School
• Real Estate Finance and Entrepreneurship Executive Program at Boston University
Ihab’s leadership and insights have earned him recognition in global media, including a feature in The National. He has been invited to participate in major international forums including the 40th Annual EBRD Meeting in London and the Southeast Europe and Baltics Summit.
Yet when asked about his proudest achievement, Ihab doesn’t mention awards or executive positions. He talks about the leaders he has mentored, the teams he has nurtured, and the values he has embedded in those around him.
“Leadership isn’t about hierarchy,” he says. “It’s about impact. It’s about leaving things better than you found them and enabling others to do the same.”
To young professionals and future leaders, his advice is simple and profound:
“Don’t fear challenges. Every challenge carries a seed of opportunity. Invest in your passion, lead with purpose, and always stay grounded in the people you serve.”
Ihab Kamel’s story is more than a biography. It’s a blueprint for human-centered leadership. A legacy built not just on success but on meaning, vision, and the quiet strength of doing the right thing, even when it’s hard.
